Due to circumstances beyond our control the venue for the Wado Academy Summer course 2017 has been split between two centres:
Saturday 22nd, Sunday 23rd and Wednesday 26th July
Lymington Health and Leisure, North Street, Pennington S041 8FZ
Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th July
New Milton Health and Leisure, Gore Road, New Milton, BH25 6RR
Please let the admin table know if you do not have your own transport and will need a lift to and from the venue in New Milton on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th July.
Training Course – Open to ALL students
An official Wado Academy course is to be held at the Weydon School
Gymnasium, Weydon Lane, Farnham GU9 8UG on Sunday 2nd July 2017 from
10.30 – 12.15. Sensei Robert Howells MBE 6th Dan is to take the course
and all course fees are to be donated to Shiomitsu Sensei.
First Aid Course
Following the Academy course, a First Aid Course for Sports Instructors is to be run by the company, First Aid for Life, an approved Ofqual provider.
The course gives those who attend, a Qualsafe certification in: “Emergency First Aid for Sports”. This certificate is valid for three years. The course is to run from 13.00-16.00 and is aimed at Wado Academy club instructors and assistant instructors. However, if places are available after being allocated to this group, then other Wado Academy members who applied for a place will be invited to attend.
There are 14 places on the First Aid course and these places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
This will be held at Potter Gate School, Farnham. GU9 7BB, which is a two minute drive from the training course venue.
Costs
Academy Training Course – £10 per person all proceeds to be given to the Wado Academy.
Combined First Aid Course and Academy Training – £35 per person.

There is a requirement to inform the First Aid provider with the names of those who are attending this aspect of the day. Those individuals who wish to undertake the First Aid course are to contact Sensei Robert Howells by Tuesday 20th June 2017. There will be a requirement to pay the First Aid course fee (£35) by 20th June 2017 to guarantee a place on this course.

The big moment for my Family this year was my kid’s wedding, a mini Glastonbury Festival of Life.

Saturday 29th of April 2017 – there will be a course in Southbourne starting from 2pm to 5pm.
All proceeds will be forwarded onto Shiomitsu Sensei.
Training has been booked for the Saturday for definite. Still looking to see what is available on Sunday, but it may be that we go for a session down the beach with a picnic and beers afterwards.
This is being held with the spirit of friendship in mind, so the course is open to all. We will have plenty of time to enjoy the local ale houses and should have time for a late Sunday lunch as well.
I am hoping that some of the seniors in the Wado Academy will be able to teach on the course, and who knows, you might even get me for a short period.
