Shiomitsu Sensei attended the Wado Academy winter course this year, and was heartened by the warmth of support and dedication of his students.
While he remains in good spirits, Shiomitsu Sensei has recently undergone surgery to relieve pressure on his brain after a subdural bleed. He is continuing his recovery and ongoing rehabilitation in hospital with Maya’s daily supervision, attendance and care.

M. Shiomitsu 9th Dan Hanshi is pleased to confirm the appointment of Arthur Meek 7th Dan Renshi as Assistant Chief Instructor of the Wado-Ryu Karate-Do Academy.
This appointment was formally announced on 17th February 2018, the first day of the Wado-Ryu Karate-Do Academy Winter Course at the Guildford Spectrum Sports Centre.
