 August 7th to the 10th, 2008 will be the Summer Course (Gashuku) in Orlando, Florida, US of A. This is gearing up to be a very special event with Shiomitsu Sensei in attendance but also Osaka Sensei and other instructors/groups from the Renmei family.
Being in Orlando and that time of the year will make for a hot and sunny holiday for the likes of us Europeans. Take advantage of the free afternoons to visit the surrounding attractions. Me and Angela are looking into flights to take in Orlando and then New York afterwards, which virtually costs the same for the flight. Book soon as the exchange rate may not stay as good as it has been for people on this side of the pond. Free drinks at the hotel, well during our happy hour! Need I say more. Well done to all those that attended, competed and placed. I do have the results but am waiting on an electronic copy so I can put them onto the web site. Congratulations to the medal winners. Good to see new names on there. |

Kazutaka Ohtsuka Sensei mentioned about some videos on youtube and said to look up "jujutsu duo". Not sure why yet, whether it was for entertainment value or to see a different form of 'competition'.  Still recovering from my aches and pains, I have managed to upload the main photos here: Summer Course 2007.

I hope all this aching stops soon, I have a wedding and a christening to go to this weekend. I may even tell you what Sensei said about my kumite, if you buy me a drink at the Winter Course. |

It is that time of year again and we wait with baited breath on whether we will get sunshine or not. Last year was one of the sunniest but this year seems a bit grey so far. We shall see. Dust off those trainers. Someone said to bring tracksuit bottoms for the morning run as their can be mosquitos or midgies biting at your ankles! Prepare for more rolling about for tanto dori I suspect. Let's hope the Guiness keeps flowing. |
