I thought I would post an e-mail I got from Robert Torontali from Hungary. It is a beautiful place if you get a chance to visit and now you have a reason.

Dear Friends,

for the first time Hungary will have it's  own Summer Course with Shiomitsu Sensei 9th Dan Hanshi between 8th-12th July  2009.

 Arrival a day before on the 7th of July. It is also possible to stay for  a night after and depart on 13th of July.
The trainings, accomodation,  three meals per day, will cost all together: 250 Euros for Wado Academy members, 300 Euros  for non members. Juniors 200 Euros.

The course will be in Szarvas, an hour and a half drive from Budapest. I will help in getting there if needed. Map is attached.

Accomodation is on a camp at the beach  of a small lake, swimming is free for participants of the Course. Accomodation  is in 4 bed separate camp style houses, showers and toilettes are also camp  style in a separate block. Meals are in a restaurant near by 5-10 minutes  walk. The dojo is a 20 minute walk from the camp. Trainings will be  10:00-14:00 hours on 8th-11th and 10:00-12:00 training 12:30 dan grading on  the 12th. Early morning trainings will also be held.

I bought a cheap iaito from this online supplier. I went for the Paul Chen Nami Iaito for just over £138. They have other swords that go above £600 as well.

I can't give any advice on what to choose unfortunately. You will have to provide proof of being a martial arts student and so on.

At the time of writing, wooden tanto are just £1.20 and a suburi bokken is £4.20. Keep away from the Nunchaku!
